Infomation
In October 2016, the Greensboro Children's Museum in North Carolina, USA launched the "Reaching Greater Heights" campaign to fund the museum's expansion. The first phase of the campaign included an outdoor classroom, a new design for the museum entrance, and a new outdoor playground.
The outdoor playground was built to create a modern park with a distinctive design, beyond a simple collection of slides, swings and spring rockers. Most importantly, it had to give visitors fresh experiences they could not find everywhere.
As you can see in the pictures, the design team looked for revolutionary solutions: a playground on the scale of an entire amusement park by combining the structure of a Neptun XXL over 9 m long (a giant rope-climbing unit that can bear the climbing weight of 200 children, of which only 12 exist worldwide, including 2 in the United States) and a 9 m tunnel. This is a unique design never seen anywhere else in the world. It can impress you even as you drive toward it from a distance.
May 13, 2017 marked the opening of the brand-new Greensboro Children's Museum playground. Children are given many chances to challenge themselves, making them more decisive and confident. The pyramid-shaped Neptun XXL structure is 9 m high, taller than most two-story houses around it, and its very sturdy metal and rope material allows 200 children to play at once. Children can conquer new heights safely.
In fact, multi-story structures are rare on a playground, and they create a challenge for children, teenagers and young people of different ages. The designs create climbing routes up and down and are open, which encourages interaction between the children at play and helps develop social skills. The 3D climbing structures also stimulate creativity and cognitive skills, letting children choose their own path of discovery.
Another distinctive feature is the 9 m rope-mesh tunnel. The tunnel is woven from rope mesh 60 cm wide, enough to interest children in moving from one pyramid to another. The tunnel combines adventurous play with safety, and fully removes the risk of falling during play. The pyramid also has a 3.6 m stainless steel slide, a shortcut back to the ground, which creates a beautiful overall scene.
You can invest in a wonderful playground like this one. Beyond serving the play and physical needs of generations of children, the playground also brings beautiful urban scenery, is an essential amenity of new urban residential areas, and makes a positive contribution to tourism development.
