The distinctive features of WINAM ropes and rope tensioning systems

WINAM has supplied equipment with steel cable components since it first started operating, using world-class materials. We still make cables the traditional way. That is how we create the U-Rope system you often see in WINAM playgrounds. Customers can be confident in the quality and safety of the ropes WINAM supplies. Because we work directly with the production line, we can easily meet special requests from customers, such as rope colour, diameter and core cross-section. The rope cables WINAM supplies suit many different purposes. Whatever the equipment or product range, they fit.

The ropes WINAM supplies are made up of many small strands, each wrapped in polyester fibres to minimize the risk of fraying, wear and fading. Our steel cores fully comply with EN 10264. They are electroplated and withstand loads up to 1770 N/mm2. Most of the ropes we supply have 4 small strands braided together like rope. This keeps them sturdy and harmless to children's hands.

Aluminium ball

It has an outer shell made of 85% recycled aluminium. Inside is the AstemTT tensioning system, locked by very sturdy load-bearing rubber bands.

The aluminium ball is sandblasted and powder-coated, so it is immune to corrosion. Besides the dull silver aluminium colour (RAL 9007), customers can choose any colour they like for the ball.

To keep children safe during play, all circuits and connections must be removed from the play area.

The structure of this system consists of small holes, hook points, steel rings and bushings inside the aluminium ball. Thanks to this system, the nets can be tensioned and adjusted easily. Each one works independently.

Four-wing aluminium ring

This aluminium ring, made of a super-durable, oxidation-resistant aluminium alloy, holds the hook points in the net in place and helps distribute force between the ropes.

With its refined shape, this aluminium ring is completely harmless to children. Together with the AstemTT tensioning system, these are the two outstanding components that can replace all the special devices or tools used to join ropes or tension nets.
